Not too difficult to grow
Regularly sow seed 1cm deep in rows 10-15cm apart. Thin seedlings to 7cm. Remove thinnings so not to attract carrot root fly. Choose deep sandy soil.
Remove weeds by hand. Avoid letting soil dry for too long as sudden watering or rain can cause roots to split.
Start lifting roots when still quite small, leaving others to grow on. Twist off leaves rather than cutting. Lift maincrop carrots for storage from September.
